A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Celeste, a mailed dexter fist Sable garnished Or, grasping four lightning flashes of the last. Attached below the shield is a light blue scroll inscribed "LIGHTNING CARRIERS" in gold.

Buff/gold and light blue are the colors traditionally used by Quartermaster units. The four lightning flashes symbolize the unit's campaigns, while the mailed fist represents total military preparedness. Together they suggest the unit's motto "Lightning Carriers".
